Maximum Volume of Oxygen (VO2 max) is related to functional capacity and human performance and has been shown to be a strong and independent predictor of all-cause and disease-specific mortality which is an indicator of the system’s ability to deliver oxygen to active muscle as well as a biomarker of health.
