Dry needling is a highly-effective technique to manage muscular trigger points and reduce pain in specific areas of your body (muscle, bone, tendon, and nerve). The use of very fine needles in a sterile setting is safe and effective for most people. When appropriate, dry needling can make a significant difference in your recovery within a very short period of time. Patients are amazed by the efficacy of this technique in situations where they have not found relief previously.
BFRT represents a way to manipulate your muscles to believe they are working harder than they are. A significant body of evidence supports its use if you are not able to participate in usual strength training. While there are may reasons, a couple examples are:
1) BFRT and Postoperative Recovery
After surgery, affected tissues need time to heal. BFRT can reduce or eliminate the amount of muscle wasting that occurs during this period and reduce the amount of time to full recovery.
2) Low Load - Higher Impact
BFRT and low load resistance training (i.e. lighter weight) decreases stress placed on the joints without compromising improvements in strength. Along with resistance, BFR uses neuromuscular stimulation to retrain your muscles to function properly and efficiently.
